TRY BECOMING YOUR PROBLEM
whatever type of problem you are facing, the most self-motivational exercise is to immediately say to yourself " i am the problem". because once you see yourself as the problem, you can see yourself as the solution. what's important to remember about this self-motivator is that it is a thinking process, not a feeling process. if we slide down into the emotional level of our beings, we'll resist this method. it will feel as if we are shaming ourself. the trick is to think of it as a mind game only. it might not even be true that you are the problem, but it can be useful to think that way. if  you use 'i am the problem' as an intelectual premise, you'ill find solutions faster than if you see the problem as existing outside of yourself... so becoming your problem
